God continues to bless our path. Let us have the faith to walk through the doors He opens.

We want to thank those who spent time talking with us at the Marble Falls Market Day.
Since the launch of the safe house in Sierra Leone we have been working on building the groundwork to accomplish the full spectrum of fighting human trafficking; from housing survivors to growing, to provide self-sufficiency to rescuing those in need. Four major things have occurred since the last newsletter.
We worked a booth in Texas to raise awareness in the local community, as well as build partnerships with residents. During the conversations that happened, two things came up that we wanted to emphasize. First, all donations go 100% to operations (rent, medical expenses for residents, food for the residents, etc). The entire Never Evanescent team works purely on a volunteer basis. Secondly, a need for more safe houses in the US was once again expressed. We are actively working towards operating aftercare centers stateside, but as things stand, and as odd as it sounds, we do not have the financial resources to expand nationally. Every dollar we receive goes much further in Sierra Leone than in the United States.
We were able to support a single mother with two young children in relocating. At an initial glance, this may not seem to fit into the mission of Never Evanescent, but young children are one of the most at-risk demographics for trafficking in both sex and labor. By providing an opportunity for this family to build a stable life, we are reducing the likelihood of those children being trafficked.
We are in the process of onboarding our first full-time resident of the safe house. This marks one of the biggest steps forward for our operations in Sierra Leone. We have been given the opportunity to bring the love of Christ to someone who has experienced the unthinkable atrocities of trafficking. We ask that you pray that God’s love, peace, and healing power fill the safe house.
Finally, we have been asked to facilitate the retrieval of a young woman who has been labor trafficked for three years. This young woman was trafficked internationally on the false pretense of legitimate work. Upon arrival, her passport was taken, and she has been stuck there ever since. We are actively working with the Ministry of Social Welfare in Sierra Leone to find a path to get her home. Our team is prepared to travel to facilitate getting her home.
One of the most important things we have discussed with our partner in Sierra Leone is the need for sustainability. We have developed a plan to purchase a coconut farm that will accomplish three things: it will provide a means of employment for residents, financial stability for the safe house without the need for external help, and it will facilitate our ability to expand the area of operation to neighboring African countries. It will cost approximately $40,000 to buy a 20-acre farm and three years to start yielding. We are actively raising funds to accomplish this goal.
God has opened the doors for us to do His work, and we are walking the path He has laid before us. We ask that you keep Never Evanescent in your prayers. We know that God has ordained our purpose, but also that we are fighting one of the most egregious evils humanity engages in. May God protect those affected by trafficking.
God Bless,
